The Hubbard Coil
#11
To explain a little better the direction I'm taking, here is a sliced view to show the wiring layout.

Green is the primary, tuned to a larmor magnetic frequency (tbd), and as the L part of an LC tank.
Blue are the shorted bucking coils that shield, and create a field for the primary to interact with magnetically
Orange is the C part of the LC tank, and is induced by the shorted bucking coils.
Red are the output coils
Purple is the area of RF magnetic interaction, whereby the primary resonates magnetically with the output anytime the outer C winding senses change from the bucking coils, as a result of the output field shrinking. At the same time, any change in the output coils will cause the bucking coils to buck, creating a magnetic field for the primary to interact with at RF.

This magnetic interaction will 'hopefully' alter the inductance in the output coils enough to make the shrinking magnetic field jump.

Does this take energy from the vacuum directly or does it extract energy fromn the earth's magnetic field?
Is the objective of the apparatus to get around Lenz's law?
IS the main aim to generate a magnetic standing wave? (That's a topic in itself that deserves some discussion)

I guess the answer to the above questions is still a work in progress.
I'm just trying to classify the different types of systems in my head.

I am keen to build something (and have done before) but I don't want to start building something unless I know the principles on which it achieves OU.
Otherwise having built it and it doesn't work then how does one fault-find it and get it working? !!

You maybe are onto something aka the concept but the real Hubbard device has a lots of coils inside.

@Forest - I sure would like to think so! As for coils and tubes, I now have everything I need on the bench - that cross section image was just the easiest way to convey the layout with two output tubes.

@dgreen264 - This is a pure Hubbard replication that I'm attempting. How it works will be unravelled as I experiment and build. The crux of everything is the torus that forms as a result of creating a magnetic field.

So with that I've started playing around with an outer 4" coil and can get 5V/1A into the primary with a current input drop! The bias of the shorted outer winding is having an effect.

The shorted coil is an interesting beast.

Any dc current in it would keep flowing and produce a fixed magnetic field continuously, only decreasing gradually over time due to the resistive losses.

An external changing magnetic field would couple energy into the shorted coil and the field in the latter could reach very high values, possibly making adjacent coils saturate.

In proximity to a changing magnetic field it would possibly make the driving coil look less inductive- I think?
It is a device that can couple energy from one coil to another. It is a way of trapping energy, of isolating it. Once the energy is in the shorted coil it can be accessed without affecting the original driving source coil. And so it could be a way of getting round Lenz's' law.

Looked at another way if the driving coil looks less inductive due to the presence of the shorted coil, but you actually have more stored energy in the two coils, then you have won!

A coil shorted with a diode will build up a very strong field in one polarity when subjected to an alternating magnetic field. Maybe this could be a precursor to achieving the asymmetry that is so often associated with overunity devices.

Lots of good food for thought there. I'm up to 3 or 4 different ways this could work now.

The shorted coil also makes it's appearance in a few different solid state patents.

Taking a step back, and looking at the coils from a plan view, the only way I'm seeing the massive amounts of power being generated is to magnetically couple all of the 8 output tubes into a single oscillating ring. Using the inner and outer windings as an LC tank to resonate and sustain.

So to achieve that do we short the secondary, with the primary as output? And if so, to create a ring, we would need alternating polarity wiring on each tube. As usual the 90° phase shift is required to align polarity with max rate of change, which may be able to be achieved with the magnetic product of the LC tank.  So many questions...

I've committed to shorting the output secondaries, but with a twist. They'll be alternating counterwound connected in series. From experience on my pulse motor, a shorted set of counterwound coils will see 'spin' from one coil direction finding itself on a coil where the field is 'spinning' in the opposite direction. This resulted in a 30% input drop and a good speedup (@+500V from <30w input). The coils started to attract on approach and repel on retreat. Nirvana...

If all eight secondaries are all attempting to reconcile spin from adjacent coils, the underlying primaries will hopefully be driven in the same manner, whereby a draw from a load will result in a push from the secondaries into the primaries - but without resistance as we've kept Lenz busy elsewhere.

Output coils complete, ~5200 turns total. Next step is to build a frame, these things are getting heavy.

One possible way it could work is that the centre coil is a radio transmitter and the outer coils are radio receivers.
As DS said you can take as many copies of the magnetic energy as you like

In the same period there were Amman brothers. Earl Amman used so called activator which I believe was just a radio transmitter. https://emediapress.com/2024/01/08/amman...generator/
It's interesting

Could be standard radio waves (TEM) or longitudinal! a la Tesla (scalar).. ether waves..
